Sixth Visit to the Great Hall of the People! Mogans Honored with the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Class)

July 08, 2026

The 2025 National Science and Technology Awards Conference was grandly held today at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.Moganswas honored with the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Class) for its key technological breakthroughs in green home furnishing materials. This marks Mogans’s sixth appearance at the Great Hall of the People—each visit representing a milestone in the journey of China’s home furnishing industry.

Established by the State Council, the National Science and Technology Progress Award is one of China’s five major national science and technology awards. Founded in 1984, it directly represents the highest level of China’s scientific and technological innovation.

A “Formaldehyde-Free” Breakthrough in a Trillion-Yuan Industry

Behind this award lies a core challenge that has plagued China’s wood-based panel industry for decades. China is the world’s largest producer and consumer of wood-based panels, with an industry scale exceeding one trillion yuan and an annual consumption of adhesives surpassing 16 million tons. However, over 90% of traditional wood-based panel adhesives are formaldehyde-based. Excessive formaldehyde emissions pose direct threats to public health and quality of life. Meanwhile, functional wood-based panels with properties like flame retardancy and antibacterial effects account for less than 2% of the market.

Developing formaldehyde-free and functional high-end new materials is the core direction for the transformation and upgrading of the wood-based panel industry and the cultivation of new quality productive forces. Traditional adhesives and functional additives for wood-based panels are primarily petroleum-based. Mogans took a different path—redefining eco-friendly panels through plant-based technology. It conquered the key core technologies for formaldehyde-free and functional wood-based new materials, achieving comprehensive functional upgrades including formaldehyde-free properties, fragrance release, antibacterial and antiviral capabilities, and flame retardancy.

Industry-Academia-Research Tackles 3 Major Bottlenecks

In fact, since 1995, Mogans has focused on industry-academia-research technological breakthroughs, achieving three core innovations:

  1. Fundamental Theory Breakthrough: Revealed key scientific principles such as the controllable reconstruction of soybean protein molecules and the synergistic interaction mechanisms of green functional components, laying the theoretical foundation for the industrial application of formaldehyde-free adhesives.
  2. Key Technology Breakthrough: Overcame core technologies including the preparation of novel soybean-based adhesives for continuous wood-based panel production and the synergistic manufacturing of functional wood materials, resolving technical bottlenecks for large-scale continuous production.
  3. Engineering System Creation: Established a transformative engineering technology system for manufacturing formaldehyde-free and functional wood-based new materials, enabling the large-scale continuous production and application of multi-functional, high-quality wood-based new materials.

These three breakthroughs collectively addressed three major industry pain points: excessive formaldehyde emissions, the shortage of functional products, and the lack of large-scale continuous manufacturing technology. They provide a complete solution—from technology to product—for environmental protection and healthy living.

National Award Echoes National Environmental Mission

The National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Class) is not merely a technological honor but a weighty environmental report card. Since launching its first eco-friendly board in 2000, Mogans has never ceased its pursuit of green innovation: pioneering corn starch adhesive technology in 2009, introducing the formaldehyde-free Douyin Board in 2019, achieving full-category ENF-grade coverage in 2022, releasing the Zero-Carbon Super Solid Wood Multi-Layer Board in 2024, and securing HENF-grade certification for its entire series of substrates in 2025—five technological iterations, each raising the industry’s environmental standards.

To date,  Mogans has participated in the development and revision of over 250 international, national, industry, and association standards. It holds over 260 patents and boasts 33 technological achievements recognized as internationally advanced or leading. The company has built a R&D system anchored by five core platforms: a National Postdoctoral Research Workstation, a Provincial Key Enterprise Research Institute, a Provincial Enterprise Technology Center, a CNAS Nationally Accredited Laboratory, and a Provincial Academician Expert Workstation. In 2026, the brand was honored as a CCTV “Major Country Brand,” the only selected enterprise in the panels and whole-home customization sector.

On the production front,Mogans operates 5G smart factories recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). As one of the first enterprises in the industry to achieve the national “Triple Green Certification” (Green Product, Green Factory, Green Supply Chain), it embeds its green DNA into every process from raw materials to delivery.

Trusted in Major National Projects

Thirty-one years mark the glorious journey of  Mogans—from a seed to a towering tree. Starting with the production of its first eco-friendly board, this seed took root in green innovation and grew into a mighty tree nourished by time. Today, its rings bear witness to the restoration of the Palace Museum and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Heaven, the safeguarding of civilization at the new Sanxingdui Museum, and its presence in national projects like Beijing Daxing International Airport, the Hangzhou G20 Summit venue, and the Hangzhou Asian Games Village—over 200 urban landmarks testifying to the same trust.

Today,  Mogans has established a product matrix encompassing four major categories: “Panels + Whole-Home Customization + Flooring + Engineered Wood.” With over 5,000 exclusive stores worldwide, covering more than 60 countries and regions, it strides confidently towards its vision of becoming a “World-Class Comprehensive Green Home Furnishing Service Provider.”

Over thirty-one years, from a township enterprise to a national green benchmark, from its first appearance to its sixth under the same spotlight at the Great Hall of the People, Mogans upholds its corporate mission of “Sublimating Green Spaces, Enriching Beautiful Living” and cherishes the aspiration of “Bring your home back to nature.” Its thirty-one-year “Green Long March” proves a simple truth: a true Major Country Brand is not shouted from the rooftops but earned through the reassuring choices of millions of households. Mogans brings back not just a national honor, but a transformative technology—honed over three decades—that directly addresses the industry’s core challenges.
